Pearl means “unique”, attesting to the fact that no two pearls are identical. Pearls begin life as a humble grain of sand that is transformed into a beautiful gem. Pearls symbolize the best within us honesty, purity, wisdom and integrity. Pearls not only provide a mirror in which to see ourselves, but give us insight into how we appear to others.
Pearls are formed inside the shell of certain molluscs as a defence mechanism against potentially threatening irritant such as a parasite inside its shell or an attack from the outside injuring the mantle tissue. The mollusc creates a pearl sac to seal off the irritation keeping the pearl safe from harm. This is nature’s way of protecting the inner pearl from injury.
Humans too build psychological defences as protection from threats, trauma, and other life
difficulties. We will work together to understand these defences and learn from them as to why they are there and what you can do to reveal the “pearl within”. You will benefit from my guidance, support and assistance as I help you decide how much you are willing to change at this time while gently challenging you to grow in areas of your life and relationships. After a while you will learn to see things differently empowering you to take control of your life and your feelings.
“A pearl is a beautiful thing that is produced by an injured life. It is the tear(that results) from the injury of the oyster. The treasure of our being in this world is also produced by an injured life. If we had not been wounded, if we had not been injured, then we will not produce the pearl”.
